Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp EX on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. A wheel-mounted bike carrier is gonna come in handy for you when you're looking for something that's not gonna make any contact with your frame. So there's no hook here on your top tube. You're just gonna have a hook on the front and rear that's gonna allow you to carry those carbon fiber bikes, bike that you just have a nice paint job and you don't want a contact to, or those unconventional frame bikes, like a step-through bike, for example. Another really cool feature, it's gonna allow you to have access to your cargo area. Yeah, kind of, I didn't want the push, but it's actually a lever that you pull, and it gives you a pretty decent tilt that's gonna allow you to get the hatch all the way open so you can get to the back of your Equinox pretty well. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The NV 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier. So what that means is that the main support for the bike is gonna be this hook on the front wheel, and you have a strap on the rear cradle. That's gonna allow you to secure your bike without having any contact to the top tube. Essentially what that's gonna work best for is gonna be bikes that have carbon fiber frames or unconventional frames like step-through bikes. I'm gonna push the lever in here, and we're gonna tilt our carrier to check out the access to our cargo hatch with our bikes loaded. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold HD bike carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. So the Tire Hold is like the name implies a wheel mounted bike carrier that holds your bike by the tires. If you have a specialty bike, a bike with a carbon fiber frame or something you just didn't want any contact to your top tube, this is gonna be a great way to secure your bike to the back of your Equinox. One of the things that I think that is kind of limiting on this one is the tilt that it has or lack thereof. You're just gonna pull your latch and this is how much tilt you have. So you won't have enough space to actually open the hatch and get to your cargo area, but you definitely make contact to with your handlebars to the back of your, you know, your back door here. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo Bike Carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. So as you can see, the StageTwo is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, meaning that it's gonna secure your bike using a front hook and a rear strap cradle. This is gonna work for those bikes that have carbon fiber frames, step-through bikes, or if you just have a bike where you don't want any contact to the paint on the top tube. This is gonna work really well for that, 'cause it's gonna give you that extra adjustability to use just about any style bike. As far as on the back of the Equinox, you do have a tilt feature that's gonna allow you to access your cargo area. When you're tilting over, you wanna be cautious if you're maxing out on the capacity, 'cause you're right at 70 pounds per bike on the back of the Equinox. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The NV 2.0 is a wheel mounted bike carrier, meaning that it has a hook that secures your bike on the front and a strap that secures your rear tire so you don't have any contact on the frame of your bike. A lot of frame mounted carriers are gonna have a hook that goes down on your top tube, and this is gonna prevent that contact if you have a carbon fiber bike or an unconventional bike, like a step through bike. On the back of the Equinox, you can see that it comes in handy to have that tilt feature. If you need to actually get to your cargo area, you just press down the lever and you can open the back quite easily with the mountain bike that I have loaded here. If you have wider handle bars, it may be a concern, but you know, overall I think you have a pretty good amount of space to get to your cargo area. more

What a wheel mounted bike carrier is gonna do for you It's gonna secure your bike to the back of your vehicle without making any frame contact. If you have a frame mounted carrier, you're gonna have a hook that puts pressure down on your top tube, and this is gonna help you not have that contact with your frame, especially if you have a carbon fiber frame bike bike or unconventional frame like a step through. On the back of the vehicle, it's gonna allow you specifically the Piston Pro, it's gonna allow you to have a tilt feature, where you can access your cargo area pretty easily. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination e-bike carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The e-bike carrier here, the Destination E is actually a frame-mounted bike carrier. So that's gonna make its contact points right here on your top tube and your front and rear wheel using the cradle system. The thing that's special about the Destination E is the way that the mast is shaped. So it's gonna accommodate a wide variety of different bike styles. So if you have a step through bike or a e-bike that has a different angle to cross tube or even a woman's bike, you'd be able to actually make that contact by sliding the clamp over on the frame where you can. more

So the XTC2 Tilt Bike Carrier is a frame mounted bike carrier where you're gonna have a padded hook that secures your bike across your top tube, and you're gonna have two cradles at the bottom. That's gonna allow you to get your bikes on the road with you. However, if you have a carbon fiber frame bike or a bike that has a nice paint job or even a unconventional bike with, you know, a step through frame, this may not be the best option. You may wanna lean more towards a wheel mounted option. more

So the Swagman Dispatch is a nice bike carrier if you're not overly concerned with a frame mounted bike carrier style, that's going to actually come into contact with your top tube. So if you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike with a nice paint job or even a unconventional frame style, like a step through, it may not be the best option. If that's not a concern for you, it'll work pretty well on the back of your vehicle. On the rear of the Equinox, once you have your bikes loaded up, you will not be able to tilt this carrier. So that is something that's kind of a shortcoming of the dispatch. more

This is gonna allow you to get two bikes on the road that are up to 45 pounds each. The way that it affects the back of your vehicle is kind of handy 'cause it allows you to still access your cargo area. You can use this green latch and you can lower the bike carrier to the ground. more

So as you can see, the way that your bike's secured to the Transfer is using a hook. This is a wheel-mounted bike carrier. So if you have a bike like a carbon fiber bike or a step through frame, something where you necessarily didn't want contact to the top tube, you're gonna be able to secure your bike without having any issues. Only thing that I have encountered, sometimes if you have fenders that stick out a bit, this isn't necessarily gonna be the best option for you. But on the case of this mountain bike right here, you can see that it works well. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Thule Epos Bike Carrier on our 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. So our bike carrier here is actually kind of unique versus a lot of other types, whereas it is a frame mount and it can also be a wheel-mounted carrier, so that's gonna allow you to get two different types of bikes out on the road. So if you have a carbon fiber bike, a step-through bike, something like that, you can actually adjust your arm to attach to your rear wheel, or if you have a bike where you don't mind that contact on the top tube, then it works out fine, kinda like our e-bike here. Our capacity is sitting here right at 75 pounds for a single bike or 70 pounds for two bikes. So that gives you a lot of flexibility as far as how much you can carry along with you, and let's take a look at how it works with the Equinox. We're gonna push down on our pedal here and activate our tilt feature. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 3-Bike Rack. This is gonna be an open-design platform rack that we will take a look at here on our 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. The Kuat Transfer is gonna be the entry-level rack in the Kuat line where you don't pay as much as you would for a Sherpa or an NV, but you still get these solid Kuat features. One of those features is tilting away. So if you want something that makes it slightly a bit easier to tilt away, then if you have just one bike loaded, like what we have here, you can actually step into the rack, step on this lever, and then drop your bike rack down to a tilt. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XC2 two bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of this 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. Now the XC2 is gonna be a platform style bike rack holding the bike in these wheel hoops at the bottom and primarily keeping it still with our frame hook up top. That's going to press the bike down into those wheel hoops and keep it secure. Now this is going to be able to handle 35 pounds per bike and because it makes the contact of the frame it isn't the best fit for carbon frame bikes and for alternative frame bikes you're gonna need a bike adapter bar because this hook needs somewhere relatively flat to grab onto to get a good hold on the bike. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with "etrailer." Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination Two Bike Rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. Now this is going to be a very entry level option for a platform style bike rack. Platform style meaning it holds a bike in these trays and this one is going to have two straps down at the bottom that pull the bike down and in as well as a frame cradle that slides up and down, can be rotated around and has a strap that runs around the bike to hold it in place on this pad. Now that means a couple things. Frame contact means we want to avoid carbon frame bikes but with the way that cradle and pad can be manipulated, moved around and rotated, it does work really well for alternative frame bikes. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT premium hanging style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. So this is a hanging style bike rack which means the bike is hanging by the frame up here. It's sitting down into our cradles and held in place with these two rubber straps stretched over the frame with a third one around the seat post here, helping to control our side-to-side movement. It doesn't completely eliminate it but it does help quite a bit. And with this you can hold up to four bikes. more

Now with the ability to carry more bikes though, you do lose out on some features and ease of use functions that you would like from platform racks. Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2020 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
How's it going everyone Ethan with etrailer here, today to show you the Swagman Current two platform bike rack on our 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. So the first thing we wanna highlight about this rack is the weight capacity. It's able to support up to two bikes of 60 pounds each, so around 120 total. One of the benefits of this bike rack is that whether you're using the inch and a quarter or two-inch receiver tubes you'll still be able to support the full weight. So getting into how this frame actually holds onto our bikes here, as you can see, they have these padded hooks that support the bikes via the frame. So maybe not your best choice if you're using a carbon frame or an alternative style frame, just 'cause it might not hold onto the frame the way you want it to. more

So the Kuat Transfer is a great bike rack if you want that unique goal post design. That makes it a lot easier to mount and dismount your bikes. The version I have right here is actually the inch and 1/4 shank with the included 2-inch hitches adapter. So whether you have an inch-and-1/4 hitch receiver or a 2-inch hitch receiver on your Chevrolet Equinox, this is gonna work out for you. So we'll talk about those different specs, those different measurements, but we'll focus on our vehicle today just to see how it works with the car and that way you can get the best fit for you. more

So this can be a very decent way, guys, of getting a lot of bikes to that trailhead. Now, bear with me, I know it's not the prettiest looking bike rack out there, but I think you guys are gonna be a way bigger fan, just like I have become. What you see, how well the job it does of securing our bikes. So a couple of little things to note with this guy, we are gonna have a 35-pound weight capacity for all of our bikes. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp 2-bike platform rack for your electric bikes here on our 2020 Chevy Equinox. So this is gonna be an excellent way of carrying your heavy e-bikes because right out of the gate, we're gonna have a 66 pound weight capacity rating, which is excellent for, of course, our heavy e-bikes that are definitely starting to kind of get past that 60 standard weight capacity that we're seeing on a lot of this premium carriers. So literally they'll have those few extra pounds to make sure that we're staying nice and safe and of course, secure with our electric bikes. Now, one thing I do need to get out of the gate as well here on the Chevy Equinox at least on our hitch that we have on it here today, we are just a little bit too close for this actually to fold up and stay nice and tight on our Chevy Equinox. So I'm gonna give you guys some dimensions later. more

How does this secure our bikes Well, as you guys can hopefully see, we do have a front tire hold securance here on our bikes. What this is excellent for, we don't have to worry if we have a carbon frame bike, 'cause we're not gonna be deteriorating that carbon frame. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Chevrolet Equinox S64650- Video
Hey neighbors, it's Brad at eTrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman XC2 on our 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. So this bike rack is really an awesome bang for your buck. Normally, your platform style is, I would say, the preferred method for a lot of people, if that's available. It does give you the most secure hold on your bike while transporting, and really, it keeps you from having to look in your rear view mirror, and hoping that your bikes are not hitting each other, or the car. So that in itself is really nice. You can fit two bikes on here, up to 35 pounds per bike. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2021 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Chevy Equinox, we're gonna be checking out the Thule Hitching Post Pro hanging-style bike rack. One of the big questions that we do get asked all the time in regards to hitch-mounted bike racks is if you're still gonna be able to have access to the back of your SUV. And the answer is yes, with this one. It folds down out of the way. And whenever you need to do that, you'll pull out this pin and clip, the center here will swing down and this goes down really far, actually, a lot more than others, so it gives you a ton of room to work with. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Adam: What's going on everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Current on our 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. If you have electric bikes or fat tire bikes, this, in my opinion, is one of the best options we carry here at etrailer just because it comes with all the goodies and has a lot of adjustments to be able to fit all those different types of bikes. We are going to have 60 pounds per bike, so for your electric bikes, if you're unsure if it's going to be over that weight or not, take the battery off and see how much it weighs then, and that is what you're going to be hauling it like, because we do not like to haul with the batteries installed.I really like our wheel cradles. They are made of metal, which is awesome, and they are going to be adjustable. So we have a maximum wheel base of 50 inches, so just measure from the center bottom of one wheel to the other, and that's going to be your wheel base. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination Four on our 2021 Chevrolet Equinox.This is a great way to get four bikes to and from your destination but we are going to have a little bit of limitations. It's only going to allow us to put 35 pounds, per bike, on the rack. So, it's not going to be good for your electric bikes and really isn't going to be good for your carbon fiber bikes, just because we don't have a wheel hook. We have a little frame connection here, so it might put a little bit of stress on that carbon frame.Our wheel cradles are only going to accept tires up to three inches in width, so it's not going to be great for your fat tire bikes either. But the nice thing about it is, we are going to have some adjustments for some of the kids' bikes. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Premium 4 on our 2021 Chevrolet Equinox.If you have multiple different style bikes, maybe two kids' bikes and two adult bikes, it's going to be great just because we have two different size cradles. It's going to be about eight inches here and about 14 inches here. So, for those odd frames bikes, it's going to be really easy to get them up and on here so your whole family can go riding.This isn't going to be your bike rack if you have electric bikes or any heavier type bikes. Also, for your carbon fiber frame bikes, hanging style isn't really the rack you want to go with.We're going to have a capacity of 180 pounds. You can actually go ahead and put this on your motor home because it is motor home approved.It does think about your bikes. more

Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kat NV 2.04 Platform-style Bike Rack on our 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. This is going to be a great way to get four bikes to and from the destination, and this is probably one of the more premium options. We are going to be able to have 60 pounds per bike if we only use two. But also, if you do plan on putting four, we're only going to have about 40 pounds per bike.We always want to think about what kind of bikes we want to use with this in the four bike configuration. The electric bikes probably aren't going to be the best option just because we'll probably go over that 40 pounds per bike, but for your fat tire bikes, we do have a 4.8 inch wheel cradle, and it's going to accept wheels all the way up to that. more

We're not going to be putting any stress on our frame and it does have 60 pounds per bike. If your lighter e-bikes fit into this category and don't have fenders, it's definitely going to be another good option for that. If you want to carry four different bikes, possibly, maybe the family's growing, who knows, we actually do have an add on that makes it into a four bike rack. more

Today I have a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox and we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 two-bike platform rack.Now, if you're looking for a platform rack that has no frame contact, this is a very nice rack to use. If you have one of those bikes that may be graphite, you don't want the hooks or anything to be on your frame, this is the way to go.Now, one of the really nice features of this is this is actually a tilting bike rack. So with both bikes loaded, there's a lever right here. We just slightly lift up, pull down on the lever. more
